Bridge connects MyConstruct to your Databuild database, so jobs, estimates and recipes come across 1:1. Run both side by side with two-way sync, or move it all at once.
Bridge is part of MyConstruct Studio and works with all versions of Databuild.
What comes across from Databuild
Bridge reads straight from your Databuild database, not from spreadsheet exports. Data moves 1:1, including:
- Jobs and job history
- Suppliers
- BOQs and orders
- Recipes and assemblies
- Schedules
- Debtors
- And more
Recipes keep their structure, so one recipe item still pulls in all of its parts. See What is a Recipe and how do they work?
Option 1: Run Databuild and MyConstruct side by side
Two-way sync keeps Databuild and MyConstruct up to date with each other. Estimators can keep quoting in Databuild while the rest of the team works on live jobs in MyConstruct.
- Connect Bridge and let the sync run.
- Start one or two new jobs in MyConstruct.
- Move more of the team across as they get comfortable.
- Stop using Databuild when you're ready.
Option 2: Move everything at once
Once Bridge is connected, your Databuild data moves into MyConstruct 1:1 and you carry on from there. You can also start side by side and do the full move later.
How setup works
Connect once, then it runs automatically. Our team sets Bridge up with you, usually in less than a day, and there's nothing to run by hand after that.
Most setups work, whether Databuild runs on an office server or is hosted. Talk to us about yours.
Before you move: checklist
- Find out where your Databuild database runs and who manages it (in-house or your IT provider).
- Clear out anything you don't need, such as old test jobs or duplicate suppliers.
- List the recipes and price files your estimators use most, so you can check those first.
- Choose side by side or a full move.
- Pick one or two jobs to start in MyConstruct.
- Tell the team where to work during the changeover.
After you move: first checks
- Open a few recent jobs and compare BOQ totals with Databuild.
- Check your most-used recipes. See Manage Recipes.
- Set your Business details and branding for quotes.
- Review your Inventory setup.
- Using Xero? See Syncing with Xero.
FAQ
Do my Databuild recipes come across?
Yes. Recipes and assemblies move 1:1 with the rest of your data.
Do I have to stop using Databuild straight away?
No. Two-way sync keeps both systems up to date, so you can keep using Databuild until you're ready to switch.
Do I need to export spreadsheets?
No. Bridge connects to your Databuild database directly, so there are no CSV exports.
Which versions of Databuild does Bridge work with?
All versions.
Our Databuild is hosted, not in the office. Does that matter?
Most setups work, including office servers and hosted installs. Talk to us about yours.
